Employee in the Spotlight: Anouk Vertongen

How did you join Cloud Group, and what was your first impression when entering our business center, The Cloud House?

I was referred to the Inside Sales vacancy at Cloud Group through a staffing agency because it aligned with the experience I gained during my 7 years at my previous employer. When I walked into The Cloud House, I was pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome and the cozy atmosphere of the office. The open layout creates a familial feeling that encourages collaboration and connection.

How long have you been working at Cloud Group, and how has your journey been so far?

In May, I’ll have been at Cloud Group for two years. I started off smoothly in Inside Sales, scheduling appointments for the account managers. When our team grew after a few months, I had the opportunity to support new colleagues as they joined Cloud Group. Recently, I was promoted to team lead, where I coach my colleagues in their daily tasks and help them develop further.

What challenges have you overcome along the way?

One significant challenge was developing my self-confidence in decision-making. In the beginning, I often felt insecure and doubted my judgment. Through coaching and positive feedback from my colleagues, I’ve learned to trust my own insights more and gained confidence. This process has helped me grow not only professionally but also personally, even though that insecurity remains a challenge at times.

How would you describe the departmental and organizational culture?

I would describe the culture as open and focused on personal development. There is absolutely no silo mentality, like you often find in large companies. I feel free to share my questions and thoughts, which makes communication truly transparent. Because this approach works both ways, I can continue to grow both personally and professionally.

That’s great to hear, Anouk! Finally, can you share how you experience the work-life balance and whether there are aspects where Cloud Group supports you in maintaining a healthy balance?

For me, the work-life balance is ideal. Cloud Group offers various options that help me maintain this balance, such as flexible working hours. This is especially valuable to me because I have a young child who often catches a bug at daycare. This allows me to adjust my working hours without having to take leave immediately.
